Pontano is an easy 15 minute stroll away and
has restaurants, shops and bars
Planted with lavender and rose beds it is was designed as the perfect
sundowner spot. Sitting amongst the lemon and fig trees , a cool glass
of local prosecco in hand watching yet another beautiful sunset, star
gazing and fire fly watching.

compatriots Tuscany and Umbria and has all the beauty its sister
regions have on offer without the crowds and chaos.
Set in a perfect Italian Idyll Casa Menta has terraces and meadows with
olive trees and vines in abundance. The pool is situated below the house
on a large south facing terrace with uninterrupted views of the mountains.

The loggia has a large, rustic table , pretty iron chairs and lighting for dining outside in the evening.
An abundance of jasmine, vines and wisteria provide more shade under the loggia .which has a long table
seats 8/10.
A nother covered loggia with rattan chairs and table leading from the kitchen provided another place to sit in
the shade and admire the view with a morning coffee or glass of wine. The loggias and courtyard have have
lighting and become the most used rooms in the house during the summer.
The pool terrace has 8 sun loungers with cushions provided.
Every evening, morning and lunch can be spent relaxing
under the shade of the leafy loggia. Outside lighting is
provided along with rattan chairs, table and chairs .
Long langourous lunches, idling away the hottest part of
day is another unforgettable memory of holidays spent at
Casa Menta.

south facing and has uninterrupted views of the
mountains and hills.
The pool has roman steps and a shallow and
deep end going to 5 ft 10 " maximum and is
therefore safe for diving. It has a safety ledge
all around however and the area can be fenced
temporarily if required.
Sun beds with cushions and umbrellas are
provided.
Cool boxes are provided to chill cold drinks
and food for use at the pool.
The path to the pool and first terrace is
stepped and railed planted with lavender and
rosemary.
The 2 acre meadow is planted with olive trees,
vines and fruit trees. A hammock under a huge
old fig tree is a great place to sleep off lunch.
Two sledges are available for grass sledge
races, a hugely popular past time with the
owners family both in summer and in the winter
snow.
Sant Angelo in Pontano, a 10 /15 minute stroll
has 3 excellent restaurants, 3 bars, a gelati bar,
shops, bank and chemist and a tennis court.
It is an active little hill top town and surprisingly
well supplied for most holiday needs.
The panoramic terrace of Diulia the local
restaurant is superb on a summer night, watching
the sun set behind the mountains and the lights
of the hundreds of hill towns stretching 60 km
to the coast .
The closest excellent restaurant is less than
10 minutes from the house , it also has a dining
terrace with glorious views of the mountains
both offering typical, regional, delicious food
and wine.

from both this is a land of sunflowers, sheep pastures, church
bells,baked summer fields, lush and verdant in spring.
Surrounded by fascinating medieval hill top towns the vistas
are dramatic and reminiscent of a fairy tale. Beyond th drama
of the mountains and hills there is a sense of gentleness and
tranquility. This is farming country and the sound of rattly old
tractors, sheep bells and farm dogs are part of the fabric of
this beautiful land. Text book Italian with all the charm, ease,
beauty and poignancy of better known, more travelled
regions Le Marche holds its secret apart from the tourist
trail. The welcome strangers receive though, is warm and
enthusiastic the local people so happy to share their passion
for their home and way of living with us cold northern
Europeans. Le Marche is a land you fall in love with
,embrace and revisit time and again. Casa Menta has been
described as a true Italian Idyll, timeless, charming and
unforgettable.
Just wanted to let you know we really enjoyed our stay at Casa Menta.
It is a beautiful and very comfortable house, we all loved it.
Sitting outiside in the morning with a cup of coffee taking in the views
was my favorite. It was absolutely a time to un-stress. We went
sightseeing around the neighbourhood, walks around SantAngelo and
all the other beautiful towns nearby (Falerone, San Ginesio, Urbi
Saglia, Tolentino etc.) and of course enjoyed eating at the local
restaurants: The Martyns Belgium.April 2009
This little piece of paradise is hard to leave.
The weather was superb as well. We leave it behind very sadly and will
always remember it.
